Dear Mr Pickles,
A day for no handbag?
Like most women, I’m rarely without my rather huge handbag as I don’t like to be without my iPhone, my purse, my lipstick, hairbrush, hairspray etc etc. Who does?
My question is: what do I do on my wedding day? Should I have a clutch bag with me? I don’t see how you keep it with you especially with having to carry a bouquet. So what is the etiquette on who looks after it? What should a perfect wedding day handbag contain…? And what are your tips on the best bridal handbags out there at the moment?
Thanks, Mr Pickles!
A beautiful small well-chosen clutch to accentuate your look is essential, not only to keep your pretty up on your wedding day but every bride should be safe in the knowledge that they have that trusty lip-gloss wand close at hand to give them that little extra shine when needed.
I would suggest you only keep your beauty essentials in this bag and ensure on you’re wedding day at key times, like before walking down and back up the aisle for official photography and entering the wedding breakfast that your chief bridesmaid is on hand to take this from you but also stay close by for any touch up’s you may require.
Have a look at some gorgeous clutches that I am crushing on this season…
I would also advise having a larger bag put into the cloakroom of you’re reception venue by one of the bridal party with all your other essential items you will need for the evening reception. so items to freshen up, change of shoes for dancing, new accessories or change of dress for you’re evening look.
Sending lots of wedding love your way.
