I’m Elbie van Eeden, freelance hair and make-up artist, born in sunny South Africa, now based in London.
I have been working as a hairdresser for 10 years, and have been doing hair and make-up for photo shoots since 2008. In 2009 I’ve also started doing hair and make-up for weddings.
I have a true passion for my craft, and I like pushing the boundaries, even just a little bit. I love the fact that with a flick of a liner or a swoop of a brush, you could alter a person completely.
Having happy clients are what it’s all about, seeing a bride beaming before she leaves for her wedding, ‘getting’ the art director’s vision at a shoot.
My focus is on helping someone feel comfortable in their skin, making them feel beautiful, creating a story.
My favourite looks to do has to be something with a slightly undone, grunge feel to it, and I’m always up for pushing my limits, trying out new ideas. I like to incorporate fashion into my bridal looks too, always trying to move with the times.
I’ve been blessed to have worked with incredible talent in the UK, both in the wedding and the fashion industries. I feel very lucky to be doing a job I love.
