Thrifty & Fabulous

Monday, April 13th, 2009

For those brides wanting to add a personal touch to their wedding why not make sew free lavender bags for your guests as favours.

You can buy Provencal lavender from Daisy Gifts at £13.99 for a 1kg bag, if you are injecting the vintage look into your wedding design take a look at Lara & Grace they have an array of vintage fabrics.

Cut a square of fabric 6 inches by 6 inches, place 2 tablespoons of dried lavender in the centre of the square and tie tightly with ribbon or twine.

You can personalise your lavender bags by adding your initials or wedding date  in cross stitch, or adding heart buttons or patterned ribbons.

For those who are more adventurous and happy to sew you can make heart or bird lavender bags.

Enjoy!

Tigerlily Loves Matchstick Gardens

matchstick-garden

During the wedding planning and design process we are always bringing fresh ideas to our client’s weddings, one topic that we spend time on is ingenious wedding favors.

Over the next few weeks I will be listing alternative favors for weddings for 2009, so watch this space.

This week I have found these fabulous Matchstick Gardens, from wild flowers or mixed herb packs they are priced at £1.75 and are available from The Design Museum Shop. You can give these to your guests and they can grow their very own garden

The herbs are Basil, Chives, Parsley, and Thyme. The flowers are Cornflower, Shasta Daisy, Corn Marigold, and Field Poppy. Each matchbook is 3″ W x 2″ H with 10 matchsticks.

Happy Planting.
